专利说明:

- a supporting layer, which is arranged to support the rods, and - at least one absorbent, which is arranged between the rods, the absorbent being arranged to be compressed by adjacent rods, when the device is rolled up.
Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of a device for absorbing liquid, which device comprises rods, absorbents and a support layer.
Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the device according to figure 1.
Figure 3 shows the device in figure 1, where the device is rolled up, so that the absorbents are compressed between the rods.
Figure 4 shows a second embodiment of the device, where the thickness of the rods continuously increases from one side to the other side of the supporting layer.
Figure 5 shows a third embodiment of the device, where the device comprises rods and a continuous absorbent, where the absorbent constitutes a supporting layer for supporting the rods.
Figures 1-5 show a device according to the invention, which device is intended to absorb liquid and that the majority of the absorbed liquid can subsequently be removed from the device in a simple and effective manner.
The device comprises a plurality of elongate, shape-fixed rods 1, 2, 3. The rods 1, 2, 3 are arranged in parallel at a predetermined distance from each other. Between the rods 1, 2, 3 a space is formed whose design depends on the design of the cross-section of the rods. The device further comprises one or more absorbents 4, 5, 6, which are arranged in the space between the rods 1, 2, 3.
Finally, the device comprises a supporting, roll-up layer 7, 6, which is arranged to support the rods 1, 2, 3.
Figures 1-4 show a first and a second embodiment of the device, where the device is intended to be used as a mat for absorbing liquid and then removing the absorbed liquid from the device. The layer 7 has an upper surface 8, on which the rods 1, 2 are located and comprises a thin, malleable layer 7 for supporting the rods 1, 2 fixedly arranged, and a lower surface 9, which is intended to face downwards on a surface where the device is to be used. The layer 7 is preferably made of a material which is wholly or partly impermeable to liquid. An example of such a material may be, for example, rubber or a plastic-coated textile fabric such as gallon fabric.
The rods 1, 2 are fixedly arranged from a first edge 10 of the layer 7 to a second edge 11 of the layer 7.
In Figures 1-4, the cross section of the rods 7 is triangular in shape, but different cross sections are possible such as e.g. trapezoid or round.
In use, the device, according to the first and the second embodiment, lies on a base, for example a floor in a compartment of a motor vehicle, with the lower surface 9 of the layer 7 facing the base. The upper surface 8 of the layer 7 faces away from the substrate and liquid is allowed to absorb in the absorbents 4, 5, between the rods 1, 2, as shown in Figures 1, 2 and 4. Figure 3 shows how the absorbed liquid is removed from the absorbents 4 of the device according to the first embodiment. This is done by rolling the device together into a helical roller so that the first edge 10 of the layer 7 ends up inside the roller and that the lower surface 9 of the layer encloses the roller. The absorbents 4 between the rods 1 will then be compressed by adjacent rods, which means that the absorbed liquid will be forced out of the absorbents 4 and removed from the device. The impermeable layer 7 allows a user not to get his hands wet when he rolls up the device and pours his hands around the lower surface 9 of the layer.
In the first embodiment according to Figures 1-3, the rods 1 have a triangular cross-section and equal cross-sectional areas. Also in the second embodiment according to Figure 4, the cross sections of the rods 2 are triangular. However, the thickness of the rods 2 is continuously increasing from the narrowest rod 2 at the first edge 10 of the layer to the thickest rod 2 at the second edge 11 of the layer. 10, ends up inside the helical roll and that the largest rod 2, at the other edge 11, ends up at the end of the roll.
A great advantage of the first and the second embodiment is that the device can be loaded for pressure without the absorbed liquid being forced out of the absorbents 4, 5. This is especially evident when the device is used as a mat for receiving liquid. For example, a person can stand on the carpet without the absorbents being compressed.
Figure 5 shows a third embodiment of the device, where the device is intended to be used as an absorbent cloth for absorbing liquid from a substrate 10 and then removing the absorbed liquid from the device. The parallel arranged rods 3 have a square cross-section and are arranged so that the diagonal edges of the rods face each other in the horizontal longitudinal direction of the device. The absorbents 6 are arranged in the triangular spaces formed above and below the diagonal edges of the rods 3. In the third embodiment, no separate supporting layer is required for the rods 3, but the absorbent 6 constitutes a supporting layer for the rods 3.
The device has an upper side 12, which is constituted by absorbent 6, which is located above the rods 3, and a lower side 13, which is constituted by absorbent 6, which is located below the rods 3.
In use, according to the third embodiment, the device is placed on a liquid with the upper side 12 and / or lower side 13 of the device against the liquid so that the liquid is absorbed in the absorbent 6. After the liquid has been taken up by the absorbent 6, the device is rolled up so that the 3 long sides of the rods are pressed against each other. The absorbent 6 will then be compressed by adjacent rods 3 so that the absorbed liquid is forced out of the absorbent 6.
In particular, the invention achieves the advantage that liquid is absorbed in an efficient manner and that the absorbed liquid can subsequently be removed in a simple manner which is not associated with the problems which the prior art presents. Furthermore, the device can be loaded without the absorbed liquid being forced out of the device.
The invention is not limited to the embodiments shown above, but several variants are possible within the scope of the following claims.
One skilled in the art will appreciate that the device according to the first and second embodiments is not limited to use only as a floor mat in a car. The device according to the invention is of course applicable as carpets in several other areas such as e.g. boats, at the entrance, in industrial premises for the absorption of, for example, waste oil, shoe stalls, etc.
It is also understood that the cross-sections of the shaped rods 1, 2, 3 can vary. For example, you could imagine rods with a cross section that is round, semicircular, trapezoidal, etc.
